SCHOOL HISTORY

JUNE 1962

- Archbishop Joseph Ritter founded Saint Angela Merici Parish.

JUNE 1964

- The Church, with four classrooms, was dedicated.
- The first Masses were held in the Rectory until the Church was completed.

SEPTEMBER 1965

- The Ursuline Sisters of Owensboro, Kentucky established Saint Angela Merici School.
- Enrollment started with 163 students in grades 1 - 4 and a faculty of four.

1966

- The school was enlarged, with the main school building adding an additional eight classrooms.

1980

- Two more classrooms were added.
- The Buckley Montine Center (gymanisum) was dedicated.

1987

- Two classrooms, the library, music room, and school office were dedicated.

1997

- Portable classrooms were added to house Kindergarten classes.
